I struggled to start this post because my mindset hasn’t been in a good place lately. I felt severely burnt out and mentally down for the last two weeks.
And I thought, “How can I write a post about mindset affirmations when I can barely function?”
And then it hit me. Isn’t that the point of affirmations? To help us believe in ourselves and rewire our thinking?

What Are Mindset Affirmations?
Mindset affirmations are statements that help you solidify your belief in yourself and rewire your thinking. Some people say them out loud, others write them down, and some do both. Mindset affirmations help you think more positively and retain a better outlook on life.
In the past, I always rolled my eyes at affirmations. It’s hard to imagine your life-changing by simply repeating a positive statement. However, it works brilliantly. In fact, research has found that affirmations can change the structure of your brain.
I am proof of it. A person who once thought negatively and viewed life with a cynical lens can now see the best even in times of extreme challenge. This miracle can only be down to regularly positively affirming myself. Now, this doesn’t mean I never feel down (see the first line of this post). I still have low days, but I can get back up faster because of affirmations.
The rest of this article will highlight some growth mindset affirmations, positive mindset affirmations, and success mindset affirmations. I hope they inspire you and fuel you with energy too.
Growth Mindset Affirmations
If you have a fixed mindset, there’s no way to improve your life and achieve success. Below are growth mindset affirmations that will motivate you to step out of your comfort zone, see times of challenge as a growing period, and inspire you to never give up on your goals.
- I am growing into the person I was meant to be.
- Growth is painful, but I have the resilience to handle it. I’d rather suffer through growing pains than the pain of staying stuck in place.
- I may not be equal to or more successful than my peers. But my competition was never with them anyway. If I can grow enough to be better than I was five years ago, a year ago, or even yesterday, I am happy and worthy enough.
- As I grow, I’m going to upset many people. I might bother my parents as I grow different from what they expected of me, and I might upset my friends because I grow different from them. However, I make myself proud, and that’s most important.
- I can conquer stepping out of my comfort zone. I can withstand the fires of change.
- I am growing in a way I never expected.
- I am proud of myself and my journey.
- It’s up to me to control the trajectory of my life.
- I choose a growth mindset because I am brave and resilient.
- Every challenge I have faced and will face only grows me into a brave fighter.
- I am addicted to growth more than I am to comfort.
- Slow progress is still progress.
- Perfectionism is an unhealthy trait. By making mistakes and being imperfect, I am learning.
- I don’t underestimate how intelligent, capable, and worthy I am. I have something unique to share with the world.
- I never stop learning and trying to improve myself.
- If I fail at something or don’t meet my own expectations, I will still be proud of myself because I tried.
- Plan A isn’t working, so I’ll develop a new strategy and keep trying.
- I have perseverance in spades and will not give up.
Positive Mindset Affirmations
A positive mindset can withstand many storms and even come out of them smiling with a lesson for the future.
- I will still smile and be grateful for my little blessings even if things fall apart.
- The universe has my back, and good things will come into my life.
- I will look for a positive light in all the challenges I face today.
- I am grateful for my life. I am blessed with so much.
- I don’t need to compare myself with anybody else.
- I am my best friend, and I will only do what’s best for me.
- I choose happiness because that’s what I deserve.
- I love myself, flaws and all.
- I will not stress over what I cannot control.

- There are so many people who love me.
- I am confident and capable.

- I am so proud of myself for trying to be positive, overcoming challenges, and finding peace.
- Peace of mind is my default setting.
- I am mentally and physically in the best health of my life.
Success Mindset Affirmations
Very often, we subconsciously “avoid” success because we believe we don’t deserve it. However, when you change your thinking, you’ll start seeing success as something that only you can control. These success mindset affirmations will remind you not to underestimate yourself, help you see failure positively, and that only you are in control of your success.
- I can achieve anything I want to.
- My only limit is my mindset.
- I create my own definition of success.
- I am deserving of success, abundance, and happiness.
- My version of success doesn’t need to be understood by anyone else.
- I have a unique voice and perspective to bring to the world.
- I will keep trying even if I fail.
- Failure does not mean “never try again.” It means keep trying.
- I will accomplish my goals and dreams.
- Just take it one step at a time.
- I am hardworking, creative, and dedicated.
- I will not underestimate my capabilities.
- It’s okay if things don’t always go to plan.
- It’s okay to fall, stumble, and go backward. Only I can pick myself up again.
- I am proud of all the progress I have made to date, no matter how small.
- I am confident and capable enough to succeed.
- My journey is different from everyone else’s.
- I attract success in whatever I do.
How to Use These Mindset Affirmations?
The best way to use these mindset affirmations is to practice them daily. Write your favorite affirmations on a piece of paper and say them out loud every day. Also, it’s crucial that you feel them while you’re saying them. You must believe in the affirmation and that it’s possible.
Simply speaking an affirmation with no emotion or belief isn’t going to help.
- Write the mindset affirmations down. We write slower than we speak. Therefore, writing is more intentional. Thus, writing your affirmations down helps you slow down and absorb the affirmation.
- Practice the mindset affirmations consistently. Most of us are guilty of only using affirmations once or twice. However, you’ll only get the maximum benefit if you practice them consistently. Your brain can only restructure over time, not in a day.
- Repeat your affirmations when you’re in a challenging situation. There’s no use only practicing affirmations when you’re in a good mood or when life is fantastic. The real benefit of affirmations is felt when you try to affirm yourself positively in a negative situation. Affirmations will help you see the positive. And slowly, you’ll develop a tolerance to harsh circumstances.
Final Thoughts
Mindset affirmations might sound useless and phony. However, you won’t even realize how much they help you until you find yourself standing tall and brave in a terrible situation.
If you practice these affirmations like clockwork (with emotions and belief), you will feel the difference in your life like clockwork too.
Don’t just write them down once and forget about them. There’s a reason why everyone is still going on about affirmations. It works; it really works.
